Deborah Martin and
Jill Haley return with their third collaborative ambient album, Rendering Time, set for release on
September 26, 2025 through
Spotted Peccary Music. Following their acclaimed works Into the Quiet (2023) and The Silence of Grace (2021), this final installment completes a trilogy that reflects on nature, time, and the mysteries of human existence.
The album’s lead single, Fitful Dreams, is already available to stream, giving listeners a taste of the expansive and deeply immersive soundscape the duo has created.
A Journey Through Sound and Meaning
At its heart, Rendering Time is an exploration of transformation—how we move through life’s cycles, from birth to death, and beyond. Deborah Martin reflects, “We are born, we live, we die. This is a continuous process throughout infinity, as our planet and universe are always transformative—torn apart, rebuilt, moving to another plane of being.”
Jill Haley adds her own perspective, highlighting how nature influences her compositions: “I truly feel that I am given a gift from the beauty surrounding us in our natural environment. That makes the music flow effortlessly into my fingers and onto the keyboard and wind instruments.”
Completing a Trilogy
With Rendering Time, Martin and Haley bring to completion a three-album cycle that began with a focus on nature and has since expanded into broader themes of time and existence. Haley notes, “When I think of rendering, I think of completing a project: the final step. This is the culmination of our work together creating ambient music.”
